NASA Administrator visits DM
During the visit, Isaacman discussed the importance of understanding history while continuing to pursue new approaches to difficult challenges.
“When we talk about going after things that can’t be done, you have to know your history,” Isaacman said. “We can challenge the latest thought processes and the way things have always been done.”
Isaacman also spoke about the importance of recognizing the people behind an organization’s mission and ensuring they understand the value of their contributions.
“I go to every NASA center, and a lot of it is reminding people of their place in the mission and believing in them,” Isaacman said.
He encouraged Airmen to remain open to change as organizations adapt to new challenges and opportunities.
“This is a really interesting and energizing time,” Isaacman said. “There’s nothing wrong with changing the status quo because we’ve done it before.”
Isaacman continued to share his perspective with Airmen, emphasizing inspiration, innovation, adaptability and the impact of individual contributions to the American space mission.
“It was an honor to welcome NASA Administrator Jared Isaacman to Davis-Monthan and have him speak with our Airmen,” said U.S. Air Force Col. Kyle Porter, 355th Wing deputy commander. “His message inspired our Airmen to keep pushing boundaries, embrace new ideas and recognize the role each of us plays in moving the mission forward.”
